Action in your country

Although viral load tests are routine in rich countries, they are scarce and expensive in many African countries. The existence of good government policies on treatment monitoring does not mean that viral load tests are routinely available to people living with HIV.

Country by country

On the following pages you can find information about viral loading testing in 11 African countries. Each country page gives details of the decision makers you can write to demand routine viral load testing.

Botswana
Cameroon
Ivory Coast
Kenya
Malawi
Morocco
Swaziland
Tanzania
Uganda
Zambia
Zimbabwe

If your country isn’t here you can still take part in the campaign. Get a test so that you know your viral load, spread the word, and follow our suggestions.
